Chapter 131: A Different Style

Yulia headed towards Black Raven City, passing by several Minor Exploration Zones along the way. Each time, she simply pulled a wave of monsters, cleared them, and moved on.

If elite monsters appeared, she dealt with them in passing. If they didn’t, or if there were other mechanics involved, she couldn’t be bothered to wait and simply left.

As for thorough exploration? There was no need. Right now, she lacked nothing.

Skills? Check. Equipment? Check. Recovery? Check. Survival tools? Check.

What more could she ask for?

The core principle of this event dungeon was to earn exploration points. The higher the points, the better the rewards, and the higher the ranking, the greater the prizes.

So, racking up points was the key!

Even if a Minor Exploration Zone was fully cleared, the maximum yield would only be around 400-500 points. A Medium Exploration Zone, however, could offer several times or even dozens of times more points than a minor one. And that wasn’t even considering the Major Exploration Zones beyond those.

Once properly geared, heading straight for larger Exploration Zones was the optimal strategy.

Naturally, larger Exploration Zones meant greater danger. If you weren’t well-equipped yet, you should focus on farming. Don’t be a feeder.

While Yulia was on the move, the live stream shifted its perspective to other players.

On the current points leaderboard, four Huaxia server players ranked in the top ten, holding the third, fifth, and ninth spots.

But their scores, only a few dozen points, were nothing compared to the top player’s 1,000+.

The stream chose to focus on Flames of War Everywhere, ranked fifth. Though the third-place player had slightly higher points, their fame paled in comparison to Flames of War Everywhere.

After all, our Brother Tian was the undisputed ‘second only to God Feng’, the man who once competed with the God Feng himself.

But no one brought that up now. The three commentators simply gave a brief introduction of the player.

At the moment, Flames of War Everywhere was teaming up with two other players to tackle a small forest.

Flames of War Everywhere lowered his voice and instructed, “Listen to my orders. Longevity Sturgeon, you’re on monster aggro duty. Try to attract them one by one. Two at most if necessary, but never more than three. If it exceeds that, we retreat immediately.”

“Got it.”

“Can’t Pill, you’re on backup. If things go south, split the aggro and let Sturgeon disengage first.”

“Roger.”

“I’ll be charging my attack over there. If everything goes according to plan, we’ll kill them one by one. We’re in party mode with equal distribution for points. Let’s begin.”

Sturgeon was a mage, making it easier for him to attract monsters compared to the two melee fighters. Can’t Pill was a swordsman with high defense, the so-called tank.

Flames of War Everywhere himself was a DPS-oriented swordsman, and he had picked up a special skill—Charged Slash, which increased damage based on charge time.

With enough charge time, he could indeed one-shot enemies.

The trio executed the plan flawlessly.

All seasoned veterans, they operated like a well-oiled point-farming machine.

But as they progressed, the monsters grew more clustered, making pulls increasingly difficult.

Pulling two was manageable—Flames of War Everywhere would one-shot one, and the three would gang up on the other.

Three was still workable—one-shot one, then have the two melee fighters tank one each while the mage provided ranged support.

But anything beyond three spelled disaster.

As a tank, Pill took forever to kill a single monster. Flames of War Everywhere could instantly kill one with Charged Slash, but then he would struggle to quickly regain aggro on another.

This left the mage kiting for his life.

Not that the mage player couldn’t handle a monster one-on-one, but the four skills Sturgeon had picked all required at least five seconds of stationary channeling.

Due to low skill proficiency, sometimes the channeling even took ten seconds.

How the hell was he supposed to help?

Sure, he could do basic attacks, but that slowed his movement. Mages already had low mobility, and attacking made it worse—monsters would just run him down.

And trying to kill a monster with thousands of HP through basic attacks? That was pure torture.

“Fall back! Retreat now!”

Flames of War Everywhere gave the order decisively.

Finally, the three escaped the forest and ran a bit further to drop aggro.

“This isn’t working. The deeper we go, the denser the monsters get. Our party’s too small for this.”

“Our gear isn’t great either, and our skills are mediocre at best. Clearing this forest is too tough. Maybe we should stay outside Exploration Zones and farm scattered mobs.”

Flames of War Everywhere shook his head. “No, that’s too inefficient. And if we don’t push into these areas, how are we supposed to upgrade our gear? How do we get stronger skills? You think we’ll just stumble upon god-tier loot while strolling around? That a random chest will give us a golden legendary?

Get real. In my experience, dungeons like this require you to take risks and farm exploration points once you’ve reached a certain level of progression. Clearing them makes you stronger, which lets you tackle bigger exploration points. It’s a snowball effect.

If you just loiter outside, picking up scraps after others have already feasted, how are you supposed to compete?”

Pill smacked his forehead. “Brother Tian’s right! Look at God Feng—he must’ve progressed exactly like this! He’s already over 1,000 points.”

“No way! Seriously?!”

“Check the leaderboard yourself. Before we started farming, he was at 500. Now, he’s over 1,000. Hell, he’s gained another few dozen while we were talking.”

Flames of War Everywhere glanced at the leaderboard, then closed it without hesitation.

“Don’t panic. We still have a chance. The event has just started—early leads don’t mean much. Let’s keep pushing.”

“Got it! So, Brother Tian, what’s the plan now?”

“Recruit.” Flames of War Everywhere adjusted his imaginary glasses. “Every few minutes, fire off a flashy skill into the sky. If we gather enough people, we can brute-force through anything.”

“Won’t that attract monsters too?”

“So what? We’ll handle it. If we can clear them, great. If not, we run.”

“Brother Tian, you’re a genius!!”

The entire operation and strategy were faithfully captured by the live stream and broadcast to the audience.

Commentator Wang Xixi remarked, “Clear thinking, solid logic, and profound strategy. Flames of War Everywhere’s performance is commendable.”

Love Kun: “Indeed, commendable.”

Crescent Moon: “Commendable.”

Chat:

“Wait, why does it feel like they’re playing a completely different game from God Feng?”

“The styles are totally different. One’s a one-man army, the other’s a tactical puzzle.”

“Don’t say that. Both have their merits. Sure, instant deletion is satisfying, but this careful planning and teamwork is entertaining too.”

“Which side do you prefer, then?”

“I’m a simple man. I don’t appreciate the finer details—I like the instant deletion stuff.”

“Same here!”
