Chapter 143: How Devious

Yulia followed the feather’s guidance, but after walking for a while, she realized it wasn’t leading her straight to the city center.

Cross-referencing with her map, she understood—Sophia had mentioned four large magic circles. It was likely directing her to the remaining ones.

The safest way to clear a dungeon was methodical progression: sever all four large magic circles first, then confront the boss.

She rushed to the next location at top speed, ignoring mobs and smaller magic circles along the way.

The second large magic circle looked similar to the first from the outside, though the miasma was noticeably thinner—probably because she had already destroyed one.

Whatever. Time to blow it up.

With the four Chaos Defilers already dealt with, the only remaining threat at these large nodes was that giant worm.

During her fight with the Defilers, Yulia had stayed alert for the worm’s ambush—but it never showed itself.

This time was no different.

No sudden appearance. Not even a distant roar.

She smoothly lured out the mobs, wiped them, then blew up the circle.

From start to finish, even as the black mist dissipated—no worm in sight.

How anticlimactic.

After that, the third. Then the fourth magic circle.

Yulia checked the event timer: 44 hours remaining.

It took her just half an hour to obliterate the remaining three circles.

Compare that to the first one—over an hour, including meeting Sophia.

With all four circles destroyed, she took out the feather again and checked its direction against the map.

This time, it pointed straight to the city center.

She leaped onto the highest spire of a tower, scanning the city below.

With the large magic circles gone, the miasma had thinned significantly. Moonlight now illuminated most areas.

Only about a hundred small black spots dotted the outskirts, along with the massive dark mass at the center.

Even the corrosion debuff on her status bar was stacking slower.

“Sophia, only one left. I’ll end this city’s nightmare—and this kingdom’s tragedy.”

With that, she tilted and fell off the spire—

—then blinked onto a rooftop mid-fall, sprinting across tiles under the moon’s glow.

The monsters below didn’t even notice the shadow passing overhead. By the time a breeze stirred, she was already gone.

This was something Yulia had always been capable of. If she wanted to stay hidden, ordinary mobs would never detect her. She just hadn’t bothered before.

Soon, she saw it—a swirling mass of black mist ahead, shrouding a building that should be the City Lord’s residence.

The mist here was a hundred times denser than the large circles.

After a moment’s thought, Yulia pulled out Ashes of Fireworks, planning to pinpoint the boss’s exact location—maybe even land a preemptive strike.

But when the feather settled, her brain short-circuited.

“Huh?!”

She flicked the feather, letting it recalibrate. Same result.

“What’s going on? That’s… the church?”

But the church wasn’t even inside the mist’s range.

To confirm, she repositioned, placing the church and the dark mass on opposite sides. The feather clearly pointed left—toward the church.

“It really is the church…”

She stashed the feather, studying the building with newfound wariness.

Radiant. Sacred. Immaculate. A stark contrast to the miasma—light versus dark, purity versus corruption.

But Yulia trusted her friend. No matter how holy it seemed, she was certain: this was a facade.

She circled the modest-sized church over a dozen times, scrutinizing every brick.

Finally, she dusted off her hands. “Tch. Not a single flaw. This dungeon’s design is downright evil.”

“Who wouldn’t assume a church before the final boss is a checkpoint? Or a rest area? Walk in unprepared, and bam—instant wipe.”

Even with her Golden Eye, Yulia detected zero anomalies.

The livestream audience also erupted:

“This is next-level dirty!! Who plays like this?!”

“Good thing God Feng arrived here first. How many top players would’ve gotten screwed?”

“Just nuke it, God Feng! If the Goddess gets mad, I’ll donate 1 gold!”

“Nuke? Nah. It’s a church. Purifying it with Holy Light is perfectly logical.”

“BELIEVE IN THE HOLY LIGHT.jpg” (picture of masked loli swinging a comically large hammer)

Yulia’s 1v4 showdown had already sent her popularity skyrocketing. Analysts and professionals agreed:

“This isn’t about skills—God Feng trained in martial arts.”

The earlier fights ended too fast to analyze, but this time? Every move was precision honed by decades of practice.

Don’t look at her small frame. Her age is definitely not small.

Early in the game’s lifespan, players had realized: Real-world physical prowess translated in-game.

God Feng must be a similar case as well.

This explained everything—the solo tower climbs, pointing out Flames of War Everywhere’s mistakes.

Then there was the sight of her hammer-wielding carnage.

Clip it! Screenshot it!

Every frame was meme-worthy:

– Just thinking about it feels good.jpg (stone spike trap)

– Enjoying the show?.jpg (tiny hammer smashing from a distance)

– Everything can be blown up.jpg (bombs in both hands)

– Tiny punches to the chest.jpg (punching a skeleton into shards)

The commotion outside didn’t reach Yulia—not yet, anyway.

After one final lap, she nodded decisively and walked over to the church’s main entrance.

She pushed the door open just enough to peek inside—
