Ch.159 - Grimoire Catastrophe - (2)

# Grimoire Cataclysm - (2)

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthugha R'lyeh n'gha-ghaa naf'lthagn Ia! Ia! Cthugha!"

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthugha R'lyeh n'gha-ghaa naf'lthagn Ia! Ia! Cthugha!"

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthugha R'lyeh n'gha-ghaa naf'lthagn Ia! Ia! Cthugha!"

Three repetitions of the incantation. A request for divine descent. The grimoire served as the medium.

The "slightly" blasphemous energy began to increase explosively.

The deity connected to the summoning spell seemed to respond successfully, as a summoning circle emerged from the grimoire.

A bright light illuminated the cosmic space filled with dark matter.

"...huh!"

A gasp of shock escaped from Sweet Reverie, the Planetary Spirit Entity.

The one being summoned from this dimension was living flame itself, a deity who had conquered numerous star systems.

With an intense light, an explosion powerful enough to obliterate an average mortal city occurred.

A scorching firestorm that burned life itself spread in all directions. Heat so intense that even the Federation's proud space battleships couldn't withstand it.

—!!!

One who summons living flame shall die by burning hot flames.

The fortunate thing was that it wasn't an ordinary mortal who had summoned him.

Sweet Reverie, a Planetary Spirit Entity Constellation, could handle the aftermath of a star-class deity's summoning.

[Constellation Whispering Constellation says the summoning seems successful.]

"Yes...! Just as you said..."

The fire deity slowly revealed himself from the center of the massive explosion in space.

His entire body composed of burning fireballs. Summoned in his true form, not as an avatar or split consciousness.

Cthugha, a star-class deity of this dimension and living flame, had been summoned.

Though less than a galactic god, he was strong enough to read Nyala's diary. The summoning ritual worked well.

"From the farthest reaches... who has called me?"

"I have summoned you, being from another dimension."

Since a deity of that caliber could be summoned, the grimoire's test demonstration must be perfect.

The planetary deity summoning spells and other elements should work fine too. Even the parts Nyala directly inscribed should be problem-free.

"It wasn't an insect that called me—you seem quite qualified. Now tell me why you've summoned me, summoner."

"I was ordered to call you by a great one."

"Hmm... a deity from another world summoned me?!"

From what I can see, he seems to have been summoned with his full power intact.

When infusing knowledge into the grimoire, wasn't there something about receiving power or aid through proper contracts with summoned deities?

There were probably some restrictions too. Hmm. Maybe because Nyala modified it a bit, I didn't pay much attention to such trivial details...

"So where is your master? I shall speak to them directly."

"About that. I would appreciate your patience for a moment."

Is it because the summoner is a planetary deity? There don't seem to be any particular restrictions.

Or are there? According to the summoning spell in the grimoire, there should be some limitations until a contract is formed.

Ah. This is annoying to think about. Nyala will handle it properly anyway.

I've confirmed that deity summoning works smoothly across dimensions, and that's enough.

Though it's just a speck of dust of a galaxy, I shouldn't cause trouble or be a nuisance in Nut's dimension, so I should send him back.

[Constellation Whispering Constellation says to send Cthugha back now.]

"Understood."

"...?"

"Great Flame God Cthugha. The one I serve wishes for you to return. I shall recite the spell to send you back to where you came from..."

"...What?!"

* * *

Perhaps angered by Sweet Reverie's words, signs of rage emanated from Cthugha.

Flames capable of burning countless star systems surged, and the pressure in his tone intensified the atmosphere.

The reason this volatile fire deity hadn't lost his reason yet was only one:

The summoner's planetary deity status and the presence of some deity behind her.

"...Someone of your caliber must serve a master of star systems. How impudent to speak to me like that, trusting in your master's authority."

"Hmm."

"When I finally have a chance to see another dimension, you tell me to go back?! Hahahahaha!!! Tell your master that if they want me to return, they should show themselves."

The fire deity crossed his arms with a cold smile.

This guy was recently beaten up by Nyala, yet he's showing off here.

I think I heard he originally lived in some strange place called foam-something, but perhaps he doesn't like the R'lyeh home Nyala prepared for him?

Ah. Enough. Enough.

I don't care about the thoughts of someone who participated in a reading of Nyala's diary.

[Constellation Whispering Constellation says to repeat exactly what he tells you.]

"Huh? Understood."

Sweet Reverie's face changed curiously after hearing the constellation message, then she began to speak.

"Um... The one I serve says..."

"What? If you're going to apologize for your rudeness now, show some sincerity by offering hundreds of thousands of insects to become fuel for my flames..."

"...He asks if you want to be beaten within an inch of your life and thrown back to R'lyeh again."

"What."

I told you to explore through that grimoire. Who said to cause trouble there?

And what? Hundreds of thousands of insects as sincerity? Is he encouraging human sacrifice?

Come back immediately before I have Nyala punish you.

* * *

"W-what?! No... how could you...!"

The fire deity gaped in shock as soon as Sweet Reverie finished speaking.

His crossed arms had long since fallen to his sides. I had to watch as what appeared to be bodily fluids—sparks—dripped from the fireball's mouth.

"—Uuuugh!!!! Could it be that... that person summoned me?! No... but..."

"I'll send you back to your original dimension now."

Seeing how he has a fit just at the mention of Nyala, it seems Nyala really does torment him regularly.

Well, what can you do? It's your fault for providing Shub-Niggurath and Yog-Sothoth with material to tease you for eons.

Whoosh—

The flame deity, still flustered, returned to this dimension without resisting the spell.

I can't sense beings below galactic god level well, but he probably returned to R'lyeh, which Shub created and Nyala showed interest in.

Now about that grimoire... hmm.

"Phew..."

Should I just give it to Sweet Reverie over there?

She's already a planetary deity so I didn't grant her Cosmic Power, but maybe she'd appreciate being given rights to the grimoire?

[Constellation Whispering Constellation says good job to the fourth Avatar.]

"Fortunately, I was able to prove my usefulness."

[Constellation Whispering Constellation says the fourth Avatar should acquire that grimoire.]

"...Yes!"

The succubus floating in space bowed her head in gratitude.

Mental contamination shouldn't be a major concern, and I just need to instruct her to exercise restraint with deity summoning rituals.

———

Now I can see quite a few people from the Earth Federation advancing into the Intergalactic Empire Federation.

Some are spreading teachings from the Main God religion, while others have been dispatched as ecological surveyors or diplomats.

Soon, tourists will be traveling between both dimensions.

"We're analyzing cosmic components including dark matter, but there's no Cosmic Power here."

"Ah yes. Thanks to the cooperation from the Federation's agency, the Extra-Dimensional Intelligence Control Office..."

"The ecosystem in this dimension is quite peaceful. There are cosmic disasters, but..."

"The divine beings called Constellations aren't entirely favorable toward Federation people. They even have factions."

"Well, unlike our Earth Federation, they don't have our Main God here."

"Excuse me, Team Leader."

"Yes?"

"Do you think there might be a Creator like our Main God in this dimension too?"

"Though they're unfortunate beings unable to use Cosmic Power, they've somehow adapted to the universe."

"It's somewhat fascinating. We know they're different from us starting from their DNA structure, but I suppose humans are humans after all."

"They say we're animals of adaptation."

As I watched the mortals getting to know each other with satisfaction, I noticed a religious group in another area. Are there people who worship me but aren't part of the Main God religion?

"Oh! Oh! The King of Terror, Angolmoa, has come to the Federation under the name Whispering Constellation! The Main God religion consists of false worshippers, and I alone..."

Angolmoa? It doesn't give me the same feeling as that "Demon" Sweet Reverie muttered before. Just an ordinary cult.

But unlike other cults, they at least have the justification of worshipping me, an actual absolute being.

It seems like cults keep emerging even in this sci-fi setting, but the Federation will handle it properly.

There seems to be an Avatar maintaining rationality among the cheering cult members.

I sensed Nyala calling me, so I turned my attention away from observing the Intergalactic Empire Federation.

[Who do you think should live in the city Mother of All created?]

[Father. This time. Nyala. Favoritism. Unacceptable. Fair. Shub.]

[Can't I just give it to my slave? I want to play with it more, but it keeps running away, so if I put it there...]

My children squabbling over which deity should inhabit the city of R'lyeh.

Is this like arguing over a pet house? But since Shub created that city, she should have priority.

Even though R'lyeh was gifted to me, I have absolutely no need for it.

Couldn't we just give it to one of Shub's divine offspring?

[Incorrect. Shub. City. Created. Father. Together.]

[Oh, come on— You're going to tease me with the Necronomicon for billions of years, so please give in a little!!!]

[Giggle.]

[...Pfft!]

[See!!!]

It seems Nyala is just being petty about having her diary contents exposed.

Yog says nothing but laughs whenever the Necronomicon is mentioned... hmm.

[Yog. I just realized I haven't given you anything.]

[......?]

The bubble-like deity, Yog-Sothoth, expressed confusion.

[Though it was a gift from Shub to me, if you have a favored creation, give this to them as a reward.]

[Father... grateful... honored...]

[Here you go.]

—Whoosh.

Aaaaa#@@aaa#$@#&&agh?!

As soon as I finished speaking, Yog grabbed one of the deities within his body and threw it into R'lyeh.

I heard the scream of a deity suddenly experiencing an irresistible force, and I sent my will to Yog with a dubious feeling.

It looked like a star-class deity.

Why give such a gift to your divine offspring?

[Hmm?! Who did you throw in, Yog?]

[A child... with... potential... someday... will help... Father...]

[What's the name of that child?]

[Cthulhu... it is...]
