About half an hour later, Yulia returned to the outskirts of the boss area.
From a distance, her sharp eyes could make out the boss’s remaining HP—a mere 5%.
The lower its health dropped, the more unstable the boss became.
It no longer strictly followed its original pattern—there was no absolute calm phase or frenzy phase anymore.
Just moments ago, it had swatted down a chunk of players in a single slap.
Fortunately, it seemed like two distinct consciousnesses were fighting for control inside the Undead Overlord’ body.
After attacking, it would freeze up, then twitch erratically before moving again.
The command team ultimately decided to focus fire and directly take it down.
Thousands of players mobilized at once, with even those from the Inner District rushing over.
These thousands were the main assault force, while the rest served as backup.
Because no one believed a boss of this caliber would just die outright.
Surely there’s a second phase, right?
“Ohhh! The hype is real! Go, big brothers, give it all you’ve got!”
Yulia started cheering from the sidelines.
The ranged DPS continued—one volley later, the boss’s HP dropped by 2%.
The Undead Overlord roared, hurling blackened debris from nearby buildings.
Players tanked the hits—casualties were inevitable—and continued with another volley.
The boss tried to move, but after two steps, its legs stopped moving, leaving only its upper body flailing wildly.
Its deafening roar manifested as a physical shockwave, dealing heavy damage.
But—it was over.
The final volley was unleashed.
A storm of arrows, fireballs, and spells painted the night sky, engulfing the Undead Overlord in a blinding spectacle.
The boss let out its last, most earth-shattering roar—but this time, it wasn’t just rage.
There was resignation… and release.
The roar faded. The magic dissipated.
The Undead Overlord’s colossal body began to disintegrate, black and white fragments scattering like ash before dissolving into the night.
It was tragic, yet mesmerizing.
“Is… is it over?”
“The boss is dead? For real?”
“No second phase??”
Players were stunned, but mostly relieved.
The final boss is down—rewards incoming!
While most celebrated, a few remained cautious.
And Yulia?
She was the most cautious.
From afar, she watched as the Undead Overlord’s body dissipated halfway.
This was the death animation—its appearance confirmed the boss’s demise.
But…
This doesn’t make sense.
After a moment’s hesitation, Yulia decided to move closer.
She crept forward, stopping just 30 meters from the body.
The last three volleys had been fired from over 50 meters away.
She identified the remains.
No status panel.
The undissolved parts were actively crumbling.
Definitely dead.
So then—
Where’s the Dream Demon?
Not in the sky.
And unless it’s a mole, not underground either.
Suddenly, Yulia’s nose twitched.
The scent of a Demon… just appeared!
The Undead Overlord had carried only a faint trace of it before.
But this scent was fresh, clearly not from it.
Her gaze snapped to the boss’s lower half—it was black and sludge-like.
It pulsed slightly, as if something was stirring within.
Her eyes widened, fully activating Golden Eye.
X-ray vision!
Deeper!
To the very core!
And then—
Within the black ooze, a pair of blood-red eyes slowly opened.
Both eyes met.
The next instant—
Two spatial magic fluctuations erupted.
Yulia vanished, reappearing at the outermost edge of the battlefield.
Without a word, she sprinted at full speed, her figure cutting through the moonlight like a black lightning bolt.
The gusts from her movement nearly knocked nearby players off their feet, causing them to curse.
“What the hell?! F*cking maniac!”
Others noticed the commotion.
“Holy shit! That speed! What’s she running for?!”
What am I running for?
My life, of course!
Yulia was fast—with the help of a teleport, she cleared a kilometer in seconds.
But something was even faster than her.
She felt an invisible force enveloping her and expanding rapidly, causing her to stop.
She looked up at the sky and cursed herself:
“I’m such an idiot! Why did I have to take a closer look?! I should’ve just left!”
A passing player, heading toward the main group, blinked at her outburst.
“Uh… little sister, what are you—”
Then he saw her ID.
“HOLY SHIT! IT’S God Feng!”
Yulia glanced at him and sighed.
“Don’t bother going that way.”
“Wh-why not?”
“Because the boss will send you there anyway.”
The moment those words left her mouth—
A sphere of white light erupted from the ground, expanding into a 20-kilometer-wide dome that swallowed the entire Royal District and parts of the outer city.
Then—
Everything inside vanished.
At the center of the Royal District, a kilometer-wide pillar of light shot into the sky.
When it faded, thousands of utterly baffled players stood blinking in the open.
High-level players reacted first.
“Damn it! Forced mass teleport! The boss is above us!”
All eyes turned upward.
There, suspended mid-air, was a humanoid figure with its arms crossed.
Its figure gleaned under the moonlight.
Jet-black body.
Long, flowing hair.
Sharp, elven ears.
And most striking of all—
A pair of glowing crimson eyes.
“A second boss?! The first one was just a stand-in?!”
Yulia had spotted it before the shouts.
One glance at its status:
[Name: Shadow of Nightmare God Yerkes (Golden Lord – Blood Elf race)
Level: 40 (Mid Gold-rank)
HP: 900,000 / 900,000]
And then—
I’m OUT.
She bolted, moving faster than ever.
But at the same time—
The Nightmare God’s nose twitched.
“The scent… of gold.”
The other players didn’t understand.
But Yulia did.
Her blood ran cold.
“Oh no. Don’t tell me—”
The next second—
Shadowy wings unfurled from the Nightmare God’s back.
It ignored every other player, shooting straight towards Yulia.
It was faster than her sprint, and the wind from its flight sent players tumbling.
Everyone stared dumbly as the boss zoomed away.
“What just happened?!”
“Did the boss run away?!”
“No, it’s chasing someone!”
“Wait—it ditched all of us to go after one person?!”
“Who the hell has that kind of aggro pull?!”
Someone squinted at the fleeing figure’s ID.
“The ID seems to be ‘Feng’—”
““HOLY SHIT! God Feng!!””
