Chapter 189: Picked Up a Little Lolita! My Aunt Fell for Me? The Protagonist Collapsed:

After Xu Hao left Shennong Hall, he took a car directly home.

The vehicle moved steadily along the street as Xu Hao leaned his head against the window, watching the scenery blur past.

When they approached an intersection, his sharp eyes caught something unusual.

"Stop here, Hong Qiangwei," he instructed.

His gaze landed on a nearby street where a delicate and flawless little girl, a classic Lolita, stood with an impatient expression. She was being blocked by a young man.

"Xiaotian, why are you out here alone? Where’s your mother?" the man asked.

The young man was Luo Yan.

After finishing dinner, he was on his way to a nightclub for his night shift when he unexpectedly spotted his aunt’s daughter, Xiaotian, wandering alone on the street. There was no sign of her mother nearby, which puzzled him.

"Why does it matter to you?" Xiaotian snapped, glaring at him.

"Move out of the way! A good dog doesn’t block the road!"

Luo Yan twitched his mouth, clearly used to his sister’s sharp tongue. He tried to stay patient.

"Xiaotian, it’s dangerous for a little girl like you to be out here alone. Let me take you to find your mother."

"No way," she said flatly, shaking her head.

Her gaze carried a mix of irritation and condescension as she looked at him. "Do you think I’m a three-year-old who’d get lost on the streets? You’re the one who’s like a three-year-old, along with your entire family!"

Luo Yan stood speechless, unsure how to respond to such relentless sarcasm.

"Fine," he said, sighing. "Then where do you want to go? I’ll take you. Or if you want to buy something, I can get it for you."

Xiaotian looked at him with disdain. "Who wants the cheap, childish stuff you’d buy?"

After a pause, she continued with a jab. "And you’re not my brother. I’d never have a brother as ugly as you!"

Luo Yan froze, feeling the sting of her words. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

"Alright, alright, whatever you say. Now, where do you want to go?" he asked with a forced smile.

Xiaotian frowned, seeming to hesitate for a moment.

Luo Yan saw this as an opportunity. Although he and his aunt’s family were related, their relationship wasn’t particularly close, especially with Xiaotian, who never seemed to like him. She constantly poked at his insecurities.

This could be his chance to change her opinion of him.

He remembered how Xu Hao had once stolen the spotlight by helping his sister. Since then, Xiaotian had grown dependent on Xu Hao, leaving Luo Yan bitter.

Now, with a new opportunity to bond with his sister, Luo Yan was determined not to let it slip away.

After some thought, Xiaotian finally spoke.

"Fine, take me to my dad."

"Dad? Who’s your dad?" Luo Yan asked, stunned.

His pupils shrank, and his face froze as though struck by lightning.

Wasn’t Xiaotian’s father his aunt’s husband? His uncle-in-law?

Was his aunt involved with another man?

The thought left Luo Yan in disbelief. His aunt, so beautiful and dignified, seemed far above such things.

"My dad is Uncle Xu Hao," Xiaotian said confidently.

Her tone was casual, as though this was the most natural thing in the world. She thought Xu Hao was kind and capable, someone who helped her mother a lot and was a perfect match for her.

Luo Yan’s mind went blank.

Xu Hao? How could that be?

Luo Yan’s expression darkened. Wasn’t it just recently that Xu Hao got together with Yan Wumei? And now, he had won over his aunt too?

Could he really have moved so fast?

The mere thought of Xu Hao pursuing both his aunt and her daughter left Luo Yan trembling with anger. His face turned pale, a mixture of fury and disbelief.

As his mind raced, he remembered visiting his aunt a few days ago. He had been concerned that Xu Hao might approach her, but everything seemed normal at the time. His aunt had been busy with work, and there was no sign of Xu Hao at her house.

In fact, he’d recently seen her handling cases online. How could she have gotten involved with Xu Hao?

Realizing the inconsistency, Luo Yan concluded that Xiaotian was lying.

"Xiaotian," he said sternly, "your mother is so good to you. How can you joke about something like this?"

Xiaotian pouted. "What’s the big deal? Mom and Uncle Xu Hao will end up together sooner or later. I’m just getting ahead by acknowledging my dad early."

Luo Yan felt like he was about to explode.

What did she mean by saying her mom was destined to be with Xu Hao? Did that mean his enemy was going to become his uncle?

Luo Yan couldn’t accept it.

Who was Xu Hao?

On the surface, he seemed gentle and refined, but underneath, he was ruthless and calculating.

Luo Yan’s chest burned with frustration as his thoughts spiraled. How could this be happening?

Xu Hao was undeniably a complex man.

There were several women tied to his name—his wife, Yan Wumei, and Yanjiao Hong Qiangwei. This was only what’s known publicly; who knew how many remain hidden in the shadows?

How could Luo Yan possibly watch his aunt willingly jump into such a fire pit?"

He felt that Xiaotian’s dependency on Xu Hao had gone too far, and it was high time she was taught a lesson.

“Xiaotian,” Luo Yan began earnestly, his tone sincere and persuasive, “you might not see it now, but your Uncle Xu isn’t as perfect as he seems. Beneath his gentle exterior, he harbors ill intentions toward you and your mother...”

The little girl tilted her head, her expression thoughtful yet cheeky. “Are you saying you’re the one who’s good to me and my mom?”

“Of course,” Luo Yan replied, his face full of conviction. “I would always protect you, no matter what, and I’d never let any harm come your way.”

The little girl’s lips curled upward mischievously. “Uncle Xu is more handsome than you.”

Luo Yan’s face darkened, nearly fainting from frustration. “I’m serious, Xiaotian. Xu Hao’s charm is all an act! Deep down, he’s cunning and insidious...”

“Uncle Xu is more handsome than you,” she interrupted again, her tone unwavering.

“He’s a scumbag! He has countless women and is only deceiving your mother and you for his benefit!”

“Uncle Xu is more handsome than you,” she repeated, unfazed.

“He’s a man of questionable character—”

“Uncle Xu is more handsome than you.”

Hearing the same phrase repeated over and over, Luo Yan felt like he was losing his mind. He clenched his fists in frustration. How could someone be so shallow, placing such weight on appearances?

Was being handsome all it took to get away with anything?

Before he could say another word, the little girl’s eyes lit up as she spotted a familiar figure ahead.

She broke into a trot, her excitement unmistakable.

Luo Yan frowned as he turned to see Xu Hao standing there, arms open, effortlessly scooping the little girl into his embrace.

[Ding! Luo Yan was furious. Emotional points +951.]

The little girl snuggled into Xu Hao’s arms, her eyes narrowing in contentment. “Uncle, Xiaotian finally found you! Hehe!”

“Why are you here? And where’s your mother?” Xu Hao asked as he gently patted her back.

“Mom’s busy with work, and I was bored at home during the holidays. So, I decided to come out and find you.” Her cheerful tone shifted as she added angrily, “But that guy over there tried to stop me. He didn’t want me to see you. It’s so annoying!”

Luo Yan stood frozen, his expression stiff. What do you mean by “that guy”? I’m your brother!

“You snuck out alone?” Xu Hao asked, his voice turning stern.

“Yeah, I missed you, Uncle...”

Xu Hao’s face hardened, and his voice became serious. “Do you realize how dangerous it is for you to wander outside by yourself? If you missed me, why didn’t you call? I could’ve sent someone to pick you up. Do you know how worried your mother would be if she knew?”

Seeing his stern expression, the little girl panicked and quickly admitted her mistake. “I’m sorry, Uncle! I know I was wrong. Please don’t be mad, okay?”

Luo Yan watched this scene unfold, feeling as though his worldview was crumbling.

His sister’s preference for Xu Hao was painfully obvious.

When she spoke to him, she acted like a little adult, full of sarcasm and disdain. Yet in front of Xu Hao, she was an obedient and sweet little angel.

Xu Hao softened, patting her head. “Don’t do this again. Next time you want to go out, tell your mom or let me know, alright?”

“Got it! Uncle, you’re the best!” The little girl beamed and wrapped her arms around Xu Hao’s neck.

Taking out his phone, Xu Hao said, “Call your mom and let her know you’re safe. Tell her you’re with me now.”

“I already left a note at home...” the little girl mumbled but obediently took the phone.

At her law firm, Yu Yun was busy handling a case when she received the call.

Upon learning that her daughter had run out alone, she was alarmed. However, after finding out she was now with Xu Hao, her panic eased slightly.

She scolded the little girl lightly, but Xu Hao stepped in to smooth things over. His calm reassurances left Yu Yun feeling grateful.

“Mr. Xu, thank you for taking care of her,” Yu Yun said sincerely.

“It’s no trouble. I adore this little one. Since she’s already out, how about letting her stay with me for a few days? You can focus on your work without worrying.”

After exchanging some polite words, they settled on the arrangement.

Hanging up the call, Xu Hao turned to Xiaotian and said, “Let’s go home. I’ll introduce you to your sisters. How about that?”

“Yay!” The little girl clapped her hands in excitement.

Xu Hao held her securely as they headed toward the car. But before they could leave, Luo Yan stepped in front of them, blocking their way.

His expression was grim as he stared at Xu Hao. “What are you planning to do? Xiaotian is just a child. Let her go!”

Even though Luo Yan hadn’t fully recovered his strength, and even at his best wasn’t Xu Hao’s match, he couldn’t just stand by. Based on his understanding of Xu Hao, he was certain the man could stoop to any level, even targeting a child.

The little girl was his sister, the daughter of his beloved aunt. He couldn’t bear the thought of her getting hurt.

Xu Hao’s expression turned teasing. “What am I planning? Didn’t you hear? I’m taking Xiaotian home. She’s already agreed.”

“That’s right! You annoying guy, get out of the way!” The little girl chimed in angrily.

Luo Yan gritted his teeth. “No! You can’t take Xiaotian away!”

He thought about Yan Wumei’s situation. Even though Xiaotian was still young, her beauty and charm were undeniable. Sending her to the Xu family was like sending a sheep into a tiger’s den. It was far too dangerous.

The little girl’s anger flared. “You ugly idiot! Are you done yet? I want to be with my uncle. What does that have to do with you?”

Luo Yan’s heart sank. “I’m doing this for your own good. Don’t you see? The man holding you right now is a beast in disguise. He’s plotting against you and your mother!”

Xu Hao patted the little girl on the back gently. "Alright, Xiaotian, don’t waste your energy getting angry with people like him. It’s not worth it."

He glanced at Luo Yan, a smirk playing on his lips. "He’s just jealous of how close we are. Don’t pay attention to a clown like him."

The little girl, Xiaotian, giggled.

Seeing her uncle siding with her and taking jabs at Luo Yan, she felt a surge of pride.

"Jealous of how close I am with Uncle?" she mused, rolling her eyes playfully. Then, an idea sparked in her mind.

Clinging to Xu Hao’s neck, she leaned forward and playfully nibbled his ear. She then turned to glance at Luo Yan, watching as his expression darkened further.

"Uncle and I are so close," she said gleefully, tightening her hold around Xu Hao’s neck.

Luo Yan’s eyes reddened with frustration. "Jealous? You think I’m jealous of how close my sister is to you? I’m just worried about her safety, you..." He paused, realizing the futility of his words.

Watching Xiaotian act so affectionate toward Xu Hao, Luo Yan felt a nagging suspicion.

Could Xu Hao have deliberately manipulated his sister to provoke him?

It seemed like something Xu Hao would do.

Luo Yan clenched his fists as a realization struck him: Xu Hao didn’t even spare children from his schemes.

Just as Luo Yan was about to say something else, his attention was drawn to a figure stepping forward—Hong Qiangwei.

The sight of her made Luo Yan’s heart sink further.

Hong Qiangwei, a legendary assassin from his time, had been more renowned than him. Yet now, she was standing as Xu Hao’s personal bodyguard. Their past friendship, filled with camaraderie and rivalry, had soured completely, leaving only hostility.

The moment her cold, murderous aura swept over him, Luo Yan froze. He hadn’t fully recovered his strength, and her presence made him feel like a trapped animal.

Xu Hao, holding the little girl, walked past Luo Yan without a care in the world.

Hong Qiangwei’s cold gaze lingered on Luo Yan as she followed behind Xu Hao. When they reached the car door, she turned to deliver a chilling warning.

"If you dare to go against my master again, I will kill you," she said icily.

She then opened the car door for Xu Hao, her movements precise and graceful.

Luo Yan could only watch helplessly as the car disappeared into the distance. Rage boiled within him, and he clenched his teeth so hard they ached.

He hated his own weakness, his inability to protect those he cared about.

[Ding! Luo Yan was furious. Emotional points +999.]

...

The car eventually arrived at the Xu family villa.

When Xu Hao walked in, holding the little girl’s hand, the entire family was stunned.

The seventh daughter, Xu Huayi, stared at the little girl for a moment before turning her sharp gaze to Xu Hao.

"Dad, where did you find such a cute little sister? Don’t tell me she’s your illegitimate daughter!"

Xu Hao flicked her forehead lightly. "Stop talking nonsense. This is a friend’s daughter. Her mother is busy with work, so she’ll stay here and play for a while. Don’t bully her."

Xu Huayi rubbed her forehead, looking disappointed. She had hoped the little girl was her father’s illegitimate daughter. That way, she could finally shed her title as the youngest sibling.

The second daughter, Xu Shiqing, stepped forward and took the little girl’s hand, her tone warm and kind. "Little sister, what’s your name?"

Standing nearby, Xu Feiyan couldn’t help but notice the little girl’s impressive figure, which seemed even more developed than her own. She felt a twinge of disbelief.

"What does this kid even eat to grow like that? It’s just not fair," Xu Feiyan muttered under her breath.

"My name is Yu Xiaoyao," the little girl introduced herself sweetly. "Hello, sisters! You’re all so beautiful!"

Xu Huayi was instantly charmed by the little girl’s flattery.

With a bright smile, she took out her favorite snacks and offered them to Yu Xiaoyao.

Yu Xiaoyao, unfazed by the new environment, quickly grew comfortable with the sisters. Her maturity and friendliness made her fit in easily.

...

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit interrogation room at the police station, Su Chen was being questioned by two officers.

Liu Yiran, following Xu Hao’s instructions, had made sure Su Chen was thoroughly interrogated. After being brought back to the station, Su Chen had been locked in the small, dark room and subjected to questioning all afternoon.

Although the torture instruments didn’t work on him physically, the situation was humiliating.

No matter how much Su Chen tried to explain, the officers refused to listen.

"Why did you attack Xu Hao? Which organization sent you?" they demanded repeatedly, their voices sharp and unrelenting.

Su Chen was on the brink of losing his sanity.

As he sat there, his body aching and his mind racing, he overheard the officers chatting.

"...It was Officer Liu Yiran who brought him in. She said this guy might be dangerous."

Liu Yiran?

The name struck Su Chen like a bolt of lightning. His eyes widened as memories flooded back.

"Could it be..." he muttered, his voice trembling.

Liu Yiran was a familiar name—one that belonged to one of his junior sisters.
